Welcome to the 2012 season at Bickley Park Cricket Club!
The 2011 season saw Bickley reach the semi final of the Club Conference Cup for the first time. Having reached the quarter final in 2010, we went one stage further before succumbing to fellow Kent League side Lordswood
Our great run in the National Cup contest of the previous two years alas was not to repeated in 2011, as we fell at the first hurdle to Hastings and St. Leonards Priory CC.
Our league performance was disappointing in comparison to the success of the CCC and we struggled to produce performances on Saturdays of equal intensity. This year, pre-season netting and fitness training will hopefully bring reward on Saturdays too.
In the 2nd XI league Bickley improved on its 2011 position in the Kent League Premier Division finishing in a more than respectable 4th place.
The 3rd XI in the Kent League 1st XI Division 5, captained by Parag Patel for the first time ended the season in 6th place - a very impressive effort given most of the teams in the league are actually 1st XI sides with overseas players
The 4th XI, skippered by Richard Brewer struggled in 2011 after a great 2010 in the Kent Regional Cricket League West 2A and will be looking to return to form for th comimg season.
Credit as always must also go to Simon McQuiggan for his tireless assistance and corralling of players. While the higher XI's often take the plaudits, it is vital to Bickley to have a thriving club at all level, including the juniors section.
After the major work on the square at the end of the 2010 season, the pitch played extremely well and should now be completely settled in for the 2012 season

Bickley Park Cricket Club was founded on Thursday 27th February 1868. The ground was supplied by a Mr. George Wythes, of Bickley Hall, and Bickley played its first game, on July 11th of that year. Few records remain of games played in the early years, although an excellent booklet covering the history of Bickley Park Cricket club was produced for the clubs 125 years celebrations, This email address is being protected from spambots. The club has come a long way from then, having played in the South Thames League until 1996 and now has both first and second elevens playing in their respective first divisions of the Shephed Neame Kent league. The third and fourth elevens play in the Kent Cricket League Feeder West Divisions 1a and 2a respectively, while at the height of the season a fifth team play five of six fixtures. Sunday fixtures are mostly friendly games, however the club does play in the top division of the Aero Sunday Developement League as well as entering the London Evening Standard knock-out competition and the National Cup Contest. The following web pages aim to provide useful information on the various facilities, teams and social events which take place at the club throughout the year.I
Dear Parent/Guardian,
This year the cricket season feels like the entrée to a summer of sport rather than the main course. But Bickley Park will still be providing fun cricket activities, challenging training and competitive matches to develop all our age groups.
I would ask you please to recommend our junior section to your friends and family so that we can continue to grow the junior section. Cricket is always best played with friends, so if the children are in the same team or coaching group as their friends or school mates this can only be a good thing for them and the team.
There will also be a few new faces in the coaching team this summer including the 1XI overseas player Abhijit Kale and a new senior coach in Bob Duckworth, who is already familiar with our set-up. As well as working with our evening groups they will be available to provide one-to-one coaching (more details to follow by e-mail once the season has started).
