Bickley 3rd 11 kicked of the season against newly promoted OD CUACO at the home turf Warren on a wonderful sunny day.
The visitors won the toss and elected to field on a controversial bowling track of Warren which has seen matches turn to bowlers favour in the past. Bickley made a tranquil start with losing young opener Marcus Day in the 4th over however on the other side Sahil Chug’s 36 and strong partnership between Thanga Haran(52) and Sahil Bhagat (43) gave Bickley a solid platform to put a strong total of 195/9 with some quick fire from the tail at the end. Anand and Hider from OD CUACO despite taking 4 and 3 wickets respectively failed to halt the flow of runs from dominant Bickley batsmen throughout the innings.
In reply, OD CUACO made a slow start with both openers looking confident but failed to score much runs as young fast bowler on his debut Anton O’Sullivan created havoc. Along with skipper’s tight control, Bickley’s bowling restricted OD CUACO to 20/4 at the end of 20 overs giving no sight of victory. A Parker was the only batsman scoring 20 from OD CUACO and after a lethargic start they were completely destroyed by pacer Anton Sullivan taking 11/3 in 10 overs with a fabulous spell and Sahil Bhagat taking 3/2 in 2 overs and OD CUOACO kept batting for pride to achieve only 71/7 in 40 overs.
Bickley was dominant throughout in all departments and pick a valuable 18 points in the first match of the season.
