Report

On the hottest day of the year so far, the third XI looked to continue their winning run at the Warren against the 3rd placed team in the league, Bexleyheath CC 4th XI.

For the first time this season BPCC won the toss and Sunny elected to field.
The Bexleyheath openers got off to a quick start, scoring at 9 an over before Simon claimed two important wickets. Their number 4 looked solid as wickets fell around him, taken by Vishesh and Marco. Bexleyheath continued to score quickly and potentially could have posted a big target but were, thankfully, losing wickets regularly. When Julian took the important wicket of their number 4 (55) after a solid spell bowling a good line and length, Vishesh cleared up the tail and ended with figures of 4-25. A good performance from BPCC in the field and with the ball meant Bexleyheath were restricted to 173 all out after just 33.4 overs.

BPCC emerged to bat after another average tea at the Warren. Simon and Fin opened but lost an early wicket. Simon looked in good form as he built a partnership with Marcus before being run out with the score on 82. Jack then came to the crease with Julian, who put on an 80 run plus partnership together to see us over the line and to a relatively comfortable win. BPCC ended on 174-3, with top scores from Simon (62), Jack (41), and Julian (37).
Another win means the thirds are now 5 wins from 5. They remain top of the table – could this be the invincible season?
