Report
BPCC 2s succumbed to a demoralising defeat against top of the table, and local rivals Bromley, to all but end any promotion aspirations.
Fielding first, BPCC put in its worst fielding display of the season to gift the opposition an extra 40-50 runs, meaning they posted an above par 230, with the final wicket falling in the last over. Credit to Terry Howes for taking an excellent 5-fer in his first game of the season. The rest of the bowlers did OK, but 230 always seemed a daunting task on a wicket showing clear signs of wear and tear.
Indeed, it proved to be ample, as BPCC crashed to 60-7, with none of the top 7 contributing. Fair play to Harriott, Crowdy and Aimey who all scored good lower order runs to make the score look vaguely respectable (180 all out). Realistically the game was up inside 20 overs of the chase.
A disappointing game, making next weeks fixture against bottom placed Sidup (who have lost 10 from 10) a bit of a must-win. We go again.
