On Wednesday evening it was time for orange ball cricket at Sidcup as we embarked on the Kent T20. Only one Sidcup player ever really established himself, and their total of 110-9 looked a bit below par. There were three wickets for Xav, and two each for Dan, Warren, and Harry Stafford. Thanks to Alan Smith for fielding for the first few overs as the Southeastern Railway conspired against us having the whole team at the ground by the start time!
We lost two early wickets, but then Alex Darroch (43) and Michael (35*) put on 69 in eleven overs to take us close to the target. A five wides brought the scores level, and then Charlie Smith’s push to mid off for a single saw us to victory with thirteen balls to spare. We will play Bexley in the next round, on a date yet to be arranged.
