Report

BPCC concluded their season against local rivals Bromley Common with a hard-fought away victory.

Bromley Common batted first, and were quickly in trouble as Jason Benn struck twice in one over to leave them reeling at 5-2. Finzel, Marsh and Clarkson all contributed to help their recovery, however Ridley combined accurate off-spin with regularly sorting his barnet between deliveries, to rip through the lower-middle order, with 4 wickets. Bromley Common ended on 164 all out, which was a challenging score on a very slow wicket.

In response, BPCC were in trouble, with 4 relatively quick wickets falling, mainly to the accurate dobbers of Leigh Walker. However, in-form Magin and that main Ridley came together at 63-4 and guided their team all the way to victory with a 104 run partnership. Magin was the main aggressor, including some brutal 6s to end of 61*, whilst Ridley was more circumspect, rotating well and finishing with 39*.

All in all, a pretty decent season, with players making their debuts and a brilliant vibe and culture around the team. Special mention to Daniel Magin for helping to sort this short season. I know the boys are grateful for getting some cricket under their belts, and are looking forward to pushing for that elusive Premier League title next season.
